Forest-River-RVOn the list of leading manufacturing companies in the RV industry is Forest River, Inc.  This company incorporates a great deal of name brands which they build their products under and among their brands is one called the Wildcat. Once only built in Indiana, Forest River expanded their production to their Oregon plant in 2002 to offer the popular Wildcat in a larger market area.

The Forest River Wildcat brand produces travel trailers, lite travel trailers, and fifth wheels called the Wildcat Maxx. The Wildcat travel trailers are sold only in the western states, including Alaska. These trailers, both basic and Lites, have eight floorplans with options of one or two slideouts, and exterior lengths from 28’ 2” to 34′ 5″.  The GVWRs range from about 10,860 lbs. to 10,872 lbs.

The Wildcat Maxx trailers and fifth wheels have models built as Touring Editions and ½ Ton Series. They are constructed with up-to-date materials, insulation, and heavy duty aluminum framing. Each unit has a fiberglass blanket roof rating of R-14 and an R-38 insulation rating as part of each floor and ceiling.

In 2000 Forest River introduced a new fifth wheel product and placed it under their Wildcat brand name. When new it was designed as a mid-price, light-weight unit for the heavy 1/2-ton to light 3/4-ton pickup market. In just two years Statistical Surveys Inc. placed the Forest River Wildcat Maxx Fifth Wheel in the top five for nation-wide sales of fifth wheel trailers. The Wildcat Lite fifth wheel units are only available in the mid and eastern states. The Wildcat Maxx fifth wheels are found in the western states, including Alaska.
